We’ve had another fantastic day on our Northstone 7UP Programme, this time welcoming students from St Peter’s High School, Wigan for an inspiring hands-on session with our joinery contractor, Prayle Joinery Limited.
Running since 2022, the 7UP Programme is designed to give students a real-world insight into the housebuilding journey — from the very first stages at Tulach, right through to welcoming residents into their new homes. Now in its second phase at Abri, the programme continues to go from strength to strength.
Today, the spotlight was on joinery, with students taking part in a practical session focused on roof trusses. Under the expert guidance of Jay from Prayle Joinery, the students didn’t just learn — they got stuck in, building a roof section themselves and gaining valuable experience in the process.
A huge thank you goes to Jay for generously sharing his time, skills, and knowledge with the students — and to Nova Maloney, who made the visit possible by coordinating and bringing the group to site. Your support is what makes the 7UP Programme such a success.
We’re incredibly proud of the students and grateful to all our partners for making these learning opportunities a reality.
