Bolton Sixth Form girls take on Northstone leadership challenge

Twelve female students from Bolton Sixth Form College had the chance to taste a day in the life of the property sector when they visited Northstone and Peel L&P’s offices last month.

As the homebuilding arm of Peel L&P, Northstone are building new communities at Silkash and Airie in Bolton. We have partnered with the college on their Woman in Leadership development programme aimed to give students real-life experience in the world of work and inspire them to become the leaders of the future.

The Sixth Form girls got to meet some of the inspirational women at Northstone and Peel L&P to learn what it takes to design and build inclusive communities.

They were also set a challenge. Could they design a large-scale event to be held at Peel L&Ps Hulton Park site in Bolton which is set to become a championship grade golf course with a luxury hotel and new homes?

Each group discussed their ideas with a mentor from the Peel L&P team before presenting their proposal to a panel of judges. We were really impressed with the creativity and thought that everyone put into the day, the ideas were powerful and well-presented and we really enjoyed listening to them.

Congratulations to the winning group, who’s Hulton, We Hear You event captured the importance of inclusivity and putting the community first and will now be rolled out during a future event at Hulton Park. We can’t wait to see it in action!
