After searching for a new home for their family, the Pendlebury’s - Rebecca, Mark, their two children, and three dogs - have become the first residents to join homebuilder Northstone’s Silkash community in Westhoughton, Bolton.
Moving to the area from Atherton, Rebecca and Mark were impressed with Silkash’s proximity to key amenities, with the local high street, schools and transport links within walking distance.
The family were also struck by the design of the homes and how involved they could be in the design process, with Rebecca and Mark able to choose a floor plan that worked for their busy family lifestyle.
Mark explains, “With myself and Rebecca having worked from home even before the pandemic, creating a space that worked as both home and office was really important to us. As I work in IT it was a real bonus to have internet from day one, and the clever home automation was really impressive.”
Rebecca a customer care manager, said: “Before we began our search, we weren’t even considering a new build, but Northstone completely changed that. I didn’t think a new build would be designed so thoughtfully, but from the moment we stepped inside we loved the tall ceilings, spacious rooms – it was unlike anything else we’d seen and it felt just right for our family. Mark and I love having our own space to work, and the kids (and dogs) can’t wait to be able to use the garden more when it warms up!
“Moving during the pandemic definitely brought with it some difficulties, but the team were so accommodating. Northstone did all they could to make the move as seamless as possible, and we felt so excited every time we visited the property and saw our home coming to life. Now we’re looking forward to meeting our new neighbours and welcoming more people to the Silkash community.”
Silkash, the first development from the Northern homebuilder, part of Peel L&P, is set to be completed by the end of 2023, providing 150 homes which prioritise quality design, sustainability and community.
Anita Jolley, senior sales manager at Northstone, said: “We were so pleased to welcome our very first residents to Silkash. That moment when you hand over the keys to a new home is the best part of the job and we were thrilled to have helped Rebecca, Mark and the family find their new home in Westhoughton. At Silkash, we’re dedicated to creating a thriving community, full of homes that really work for residents and I’m so excited to welcome more people over the coming year!”
All phase 1 homes at Silkash are now sold, with 26 phase 2 homes currently available.
