We’re thrilled to have officially launched our second Construction Crew work experience programme—an exciting opportunity for young people to gain hands-on insight into the construction industry and explore what a future in the built environment could look like.
The week kicked off with a warm welcome from our Construction Director, Rob Rudkin, who officially opened the session. Rob's passion for supporting young people and giving back to the communities where we build shines through every year—thank you, Rob, for always going the extra mile to make these opportunities meaningful.
Our opening day was packed with practical, interactive sessions delivered by some of the best in the business. A huge thank you to James Prayle, leading our team of skilled joiners, and Barry McLoughlin, our electrical contractor, for hosting engaging, hands-on experiences. Your time, energy, and expertise bring Construction Crew to life—and your sessions were without a doubt a highlight of the day!
The students also had the unique chance to go behind the scenes with Site Manager Alex Morris, exploring a live development and seeing the various stages of construction up close. It’s experiences like these that turn interest into inspiration.
And the momentum continues—tomorrow, the team will be getting stuck in and building a bungalow at our Applecast development, learning real-world skills and understanding what it truly means to be part of shaping the places people will soon call home.
One of our favourite moments of the day? Hearing a student say:
“I am absolutely loving this day.”
That’s what it’s all about.
This is what opportunity looks like.
This is what building futures looks like.
