We had the pleasure of hosting Year 10 Design and Technology students from Our Lady’s Catholic College for a hands-on day of learning under the spring sunshine.   Led by our experienced Contracts Manager, John Rush, the students were taken on a journey through the early stages of housebuilding. John shared insights into the pre-construction process before guiding the group on a tour of the site, where they saw real-time progress on foundations and brickwork.   The students’ curiosity was infectious—they asked thoughtful questions and sparked lively discussions on everything from structural engineering to sustainable design. It was clear that many of them were seeing the world of construction in a whole new light.   We’re always proud to open our doors to local schools and give young people a chance to connect classroom learning with real-world applications. Days like this remind us how important it is to inspire the next generation of designers, builders, and problem-solvers.   Thank you to Our Lady’s Catholic College for spending the day with us—we hope to see some of you on-site again in the not-too-distant future! - ![IMG\_2945](https://hub.northstone.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/IMG_2945.jpg?width=4032&height=3024&name=IMG_2945.jpg) Hover message - ![IMG\_2949](https://hub.northstone.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/IMG_2949.jpg?width=4032&height=3024&name=IMG_2949.jpg) - ![IMG\_2950-1](https://hub.northstone.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/IMG_2950-1.jpg?width=4032&height=3024&name=IMG_2950-1.jpg) - ![IMG\_2941](https://hub.northstone.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/IMG_2941.jpg?width=4032&height=3024&name=IMG_2941.jpg) - ![IMG\_2946](https://hub.northstone.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/IMG_2946.jpg?width=4032&height=3024&name=IMG_2946.jpg) - ![IMG\_2944](https://hub.northstone.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/IMG_2944.jpg?width=4032&height=3024&name=IMG_2944.jpg) - ![IMG\_2947](https://hub.northstone.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/IMG_2947.jpg?width=4032&height=3024&name=IMG_2947.jpg) - ![IMG\_2942](https://hub.northstone.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/IMG_2942.jpg?width=4032&height=3024&name=IMG_2942.jpg) - ![IMG\_2940](https://hub.northstone.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/IMG_2940.jpg?width=4032&height=3024&name=IMG_2940.jpg) - ![IMG\_2939](https://hub.northstone.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/IMG_2939.jpg?width=4032&height=3024&name=IMG_2939.jpg) - ![IMG\_2948](https://hub.northstone.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/IMG_2948.jpg?width=4032&height=3024&name=IMG_2948.jpg) - ![IMG\_2943](https://hub.northstone.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/IMG_2943.jpg?width=4032&height=3024&name=IMG_2943.jpg) ## Related Stories [![](https://hub.northstone.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/_JA21877-Edit-LOW%5B83%5D.jpg?width=352&name=_JA21877-Edit-LOW%5B83%5D.jpg)](https://hub.northstone.co.uk/we-secured-south-heywood-site-for-up-to-190-homes) Featured #### [We Secured South Heywood Site for Up to 190 Homes](https://hub.northstone.co.uk/we-secured-south-heywood-site-for-up-to-190-homes) [Read More](https://hub.northstone.co.uk/we-secured-south-heywood-site-for-up-to-190-homes) [![](https://hub.northstone.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/DJI_0180.jpg?width=352&name=DJI_0180.jpg)](https://hub.northstone.co.uk/weve-purchased-a-site-for-249-new-homes-in-bromborough) Merse #### [We've Purchased a Site for 249 New Homes in Bromborough](https://hub.northstone.co.uk/weve-purchased-a-site-for-249-new-homes-in-bromborough) [Read More](https://hub.northstone.co.uk/weve-purchased-a-site-for-249-new-homes-in-bromborough) [![](https://hub.northstone.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/horwich-Northstone-via-KrPR.jpg?width=352&name=horwich-Northstone-via-KrPR.jpg)](https://hub.northstone.co.uk/northstone-agrees-contracts-for-huge-mod-site) Developments #### [Northstone agrees contracts for huge MoD site](https://hub.northstone.co.uk/northstone-agrees-contracts-for-huge-mod-site) [Read More](https://hub.northstone.co.uk/northstone-agrees-contracts-for-huge-mod-site) Sign up to our newsletter ###### Socials - [Follow us on Facebook Facebook](https://www.facebook.com) - [Follow us on Instagram Instagram](https://www.facebook.com/northstoneuk/) - [Follow us on Twitter Twitter](https://twitter.com/northstoneuk/) - [Follow us on LinkedIn LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/company/northstoneuk/) - [Follow us on Facebook YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCy_EBt7OYmDZ2iDopjA9fFQ) ###### Contact Details Venus Building 1 Old Park Lane, TraffordCity, Manchester, M41 7HA info@northstone.co.uk 0161 629 8220 ###### About Northstone - [The New Homes Quality Code](https://northstone.co.uk/the-new-homes-quality-code/) - [Customer Care](https://northstone.co.uk/neighbourhub/) - [Design Approach](https://northstone.co.uk/design-approach/) - [Careers](https://northstone.co.uk/careers/) - [About](https://northstone.co.uk/about/) - [Community and Social Value](https://northstone.co.uk/community-and-social-value/) - [Terms of Use](https://northstone.co.uk/app/uploads/2026/06/Website-Terms-of-Use.pdf) ###### About Northstone Northstone, part of the Peel Group, is an established, award-winning northern placemaker renowned for delivering quality, innovative homes.
